ZAGREB, February 23, 2019 - Jura Ozmec will serve as president of the Croatian Sports Journalists Association (CSJA) for another four years alongside Marijan Bakić, who retained his position as CSJA secretary general.
This was decided at the CSJA Election Assembly held in Journalists Home in Zagreb on Friday, February 22. It is Ozmec’s fifth mandate and Bakic’s third.
CONTINUITY “Only continuity is important in the next four years. We have pointed out that we work well, our finances are stable, and our future is to work and fight for the journalists rights, and for us, sports journalists, also to have the best possible facilities where ever we go,” Ozmec, who is also the International Sports Press Association (AIPS) treasurer and acting secretary general, noted.
ANNIVERSARY This year CSJA will celebrate 70 years of existence - it was established on April 6, 1949. There will be a ceremony on the same date this year in Zagreb under the high patronage of Croatian President, Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović. The event will be attended by many distinguished guests from Croatia and countries surrounding Croatia, including AIPS President Gianni Merlo and AIPS Europe President Charles Camenzuli. CSJA is preparing a book to commemorate the great jubilee.
