

LAUSANNE, January 5, 2015 – For the first time inhis career, German goalkeeper MANUEL NEUER – one of the leading figures in the football world especially withthe national team winner of the 2014FIFA World Cup held in Brazil and withBayern Munich in the Bundesliha - and also for the first time in her carreer Belorussian DARYA DOMRACHEVA – three times Olympicmedalist in Sochi 2014 arethe winners in the 2014 Edition of the EuropeanSportsman and Sportswoman of the Year Awards .
It was the 32nd annual poll conducted by the AIPS – EUROPE as the biggest continental section of AIPS and wasestablished in 1977 at the AIPS Congress in Milano Marittima.
Since 2003, the annual poll was named the Frank Taylor Trophy in honour of theformer president of both AIPS and UEPS.
Manuel Neuer won this year’s edition ahead of Swisstennis player Roger Federer while Darya Domracheva won ahead of Norwegian crosscountry skier Marit Bjorgen won the women's award for the EvgenBergant Trophy.
