PyeongChang 2018 Executive Board nominates LEE Hee-beom as new President

SEOUL, May 4, 2016 – The PyeongChang Organizing Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (POCOG) held its 26th Executive Board Meeting to officially nominate former minister LEE Hee-beom as the new president.
The Executive Board, composed of 23 members, unanimously voted to nominate LEE Hee-beom as President, aside from one absentee.
The nomination will be ratified through the POCOG General Assembly meeting scheduled for Thursday, May 12 at 11am. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will then approve LEE’s appointment as POCOG President.
