

KABUL, January 17, 2017 – The ASJF ExecutiveCommittee met with Sayed Sadat Mansoor Naderi, member of the national CricketBoard of Directors and Afghanistan’s Minister of Urban Development and Houses.
Naderi is an active member of theAfghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) and has been doing his best improve the levelof cricket in the country in the last two years.
ASJF President Mr. Sayer Zaland thanked theminister for his time and the opportunity given to ASFA for holding such agreat meeting attended by a number of Ministry directors and deputy ministerswere present.
Mr. Zaland further added that the meeting’simportance was even greater as it allowed the opportunity to discuss the futureof sports in the country.
The ASJF President addressed the Minister explainingthat Afghanistan Sports Journalists’ Federation is fully committed to workingwith him to develop Afghan sports in the future. “As a structured group ofjournalists who are doing their part in sports, especially in cricket andfootball, we as ASJF members want to have real athletes on the field and helpbring pride to the nation” Zaland said
According to the first vice president ofASJF, Mr. Khoshal Taib, the members of the Afghanistan Cricket Board have servedthe sport very well, and that it was due to their support that there is nowquality cricket in the country.
He added further that Mr. Naderi has theability to work hard and represent the nation just as he did during his owndays as a cricket player who played for a number of UK teams.

The ASJF representatives explained that, forthe first time, Afghanistan can pride itself on having a national Sports Journalists’ Federation, whichstatues itself as top supporter of of youth, journalists and athletes in thecountry.
The ASJF president and EC members awardedMr. Sayed Sadat Mansoor Naderi with the special shield of AIPS as the firstAfghan minister who has dedicated his time to promoting sports and working withsports journalists to help solve their problems in the country.
Mr. Naderi thanked ASJF, adding that as theonly recognized sports journalists association in Afghanistan, it has the fullsupport of the Ministry.
Naderi added that he is committed to hiswork in the field of sports as well as in the ministry.
He said, during next two years they will work closely with the ACB and alsowith ASJF on promoting the spirit of cricket and bringing more talent to thenational team of Afghanistan.
Sadat Mansoor Naderi was officially awardedthe Peace through Commerce award for 2012 by the United States Department ofCommerce in Dubai.
He was also among the most highly praised ministersof the Afghanistan governmental cabinet this year, with approval coming from thenational parliament.
