LOS ANGELES, March 16, 2017 - This weekend,the world’s best men’s and women’s foil fencers will be in action at the Absolute Fencing Gear FIE Grand Prix Tournamentin Long Beach from March 17-18, 2017 presented by the Center for InternationalSports Leadership and the National Fencing Foundation.

This will be the first time a Grand Prix forfoil fencers is being held in the United States since 2004. With at least 60U.S. fencers scheduled to compete against athletes from 30 other nations, TeamUSA is expected to include 2016 Olympic medalists Alexander Massialas (SanFrancisco, Calif.), Gerek Meinhardt (San Francisco, Calif.), Race Imboden(Brooklyn, N.Y.) and Miles Chamley-Watson (New York City, N.Y.) The U.S.Women’s Foil Team will be headlined by Olympians Lee Kiefer (Lexington, Ky.) andNicole Ross (New York City, N.Y.) who are ranked No. 2 and 5 in the world,respectively.
