Tijuana, April 28, 2018 - The International Sports Press Association (AIPS) America, deservedly recognized Natalia Botello, a young fencer, as the continent’s outstanding female athlete for her important achievements in 2017. She was honord during the opening ceremony of the National Fencing Championship 2018 to be held until May 6, 2018, at the High Performance Center (CAR) in Tijuana.
Alberto Rico Santacruz, as President of the Mexican Federation of Sports Journalist (FEMECRODE) and on behalf of Gabriel Cazenave, President of AIPS America, gave the award. Botello, born in Tijuana in 2003, experienced a wonderful 2017. Her achievements in the best international competitions earned her recognition as the best athlete in Baja California at ceremony organized by the Inde. She also won a simliar award at local level. Botello also won the National Sports Award, within the category of non-professional athlete.
The youth world champion of Plovdiv 2017, the first time that a Mexican achieved such a feat, is preparing for the Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Tijuana, 28 de abril de 2018 - La Asociación de Periodistas Deportivos (AIPS) América, entregó un merecido reconocimiento como la atleta femenina del continente a la juvenil esgrimista bajacaliforniana Natalia Botello, por sus importantes logros alcanzados en el 2017. Esto durante el marco de la ceremonia de inauguración del Campeonato Nacional de Esgrima 2018 que se realizará hasta el 6 de mayo del año en curso, en las instalaciones del Centro de Alto Rendimiento (CAR) de esta ciudad.
Alberto Rico Santacruz, en su calidad de Presidente de la Federación Mexicana de Cronistas Deportivos (FEMECRODE) y en representación de Gabriel Cazenave, Presidente de la AIPS América, hizo entrega del galardón. Natalia, nacida en Tijuana hace quince años, vivió un año maravilloso en el 2017, sus logros en los mejores escenarios internacionales le valieron ser reconocida como la mejor atleta de Baja California en la ceremonia organizada por el Inde, también obtuvo ese mismo reconocimiento a nivel municipal en la ceremonia de la Gala Deportiva y, por si fuera poco, fue la ganadora del Premio Nacional del Deporte (PND), dentro de la modalidad de deportista no profesional.
La campeona mundial de la categoría Juvenil en Plovdiv 2017, siendo la primera vez que una mexicana lo consigue, así como dos veces subcampeona en Verona, ahora apunta a los Juegos Olímpicos de la Juventud en Buenos Aires, Argentina 2018.
