MOSCOW, January 4, 2020 - Sport journalists from 60 regions of Russia and 8 countries took part in the 9th edition of the “Energy of Winners” Awards for Russian speaking sports writers. The organizers were: the National Olympic Committee of Russia, the Federation of Sport Journalists of Russia (FSJR) and “Gazprom”. Without this giant the financing of the competition that attracted 308 contenders would have been impossible.

The best color piece in federal media was named after the first vice president of FSJR, the late Lev Rossoshik and the best color piece from regional applicants was named after the late Honorary President of the FSJR Igor Maslennikov. Yuriy Golyshak from “Sport Express” won the federal media first prize for the sixth time. Yuriy Seidov was the winner among the regional contenders for the second time.
 

The speech by Yuri Mikhailevic from Belarus will not be forgotten in a hurry. The winner in the category “TV film production in the Russian speaking foreign press” told us the story of his success. In 2013 he took part in the AIPS Young Reporters programme which helped him a lot in his journalistic career. Special words of gratitude were addressed to AIPS president Gianni Merlo. After the ceremony was over Yuri Mikhailevic kindly asked me to express his admiration for those who had launched the Young Reporters program and it is with pleasure that I’m doing that personally to Gianni Merlo right now.
