DAKAR, March 19, 2020 - The National Sport Press Association of Senegal (ANPS) has given one million CFA (about 1500 Euros) to the government through the National Health Commission as contribution to support its efforts to fight against coronavirus.
Aware that the fight is everyone's business, the association held a meeting with its executive committee to think on how it could help overcome this crisis. The decision was then taken and praised by all the sport association members.
The financial contribution by ANPS is the second gesture towards limiting of the spread of coronavirus. The sport association had previously postponed a hiking which was planned for March 14 to celebrate International Women's Day.
The coronavirus impact on sport also consequences on sport journalism as almost all competitions are postponed or cancelled. And contributing to end the spread is for sport journalists a way to contribute to its own work becoming normal.
