Cristiano and Mendes donate 1 million to help two hospitals in Portugal

LISBON, March 29, 2020 - Cristiano Ronaldo and Jorge Mendes have pledged to donate one million euros aid to help two hospitals, one in Porto and the other in the Portuguese capital, Lisbon. The pair will help to build two new ICU (Intensive Care Units) with 10 beds each fully equipped to help the fight against the Covid-19.
The pair will also donate 5 ventilators to the Madeira Island Health Service, where Cristiano Ronaldo was born and has been living the last weeks, after his mother had a heart attack in the island. The Italian league is suspended and the teams have been advised not to go back to normal training sessions.

Apart from being the agent of Cristiano Ronaldo, Jorge Mendes has his main residence in Porto, in the north of the country.
Cristiano Ronaldo has been in Madeira and has shown through social media his magnificent villa, which has been criticized in Portugal, as the country struggles with the pandemic. On Saturday the death toll was 100 with more then 5000 infections and some think that the player should be more discreet.
