

FREETOWN, April 7, 2022 - The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced the opening of its satellite office in Abidjan, the capital of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations tournament’s host Ivory Coast.
According to CAF, the opening of the satellite office is “part of its buildup to the 34th edition of the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations 2023 in which its momentum in the continent remains high.
Also,“to ensure better coordination between the Government and the Local Organizing Committee – (LOC) for the tournament.”
CAF Boss, Dr Patrice Motsepe inaugurated the office on Monday, 4th April, 2022 together with the Ivorian Minister of Sport, Paulin Claude Danho, Mayor of Abidjan, Jean-Marc Yace, Local Organising Committee President, Albert François Amichia, Mme Mariam Dao Gabala, FIF Chairperson of the Normalization Committee, CAF President Special Advisory Jacques Anouma and CAF General Secretary Veron Mosengo-Omba.
The newly inaugurated satellite office in Abidjan is the second ever in a host country of the continent’s flagship championship, after the one previously set up together with the Cameroonian Government and the Local Organizing Committee in Yaoundé prior to the commencement of the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations Cameroon 2021.
