BUENOS AIRES, June 6, 2022 - One of the most exciting moments of the Argentine Federation of Sports Journalists Assembly was the FAPED Awards 2021-2022 which recognised three sports ambassadors in our country.
The Honorary President of the institution, Prof. Hugo Lencina, introduced the meaning of the FAPED Awards, and the first distinction went to Alejandro Fabbri (with more than 40 years in the profession), as Master of Journalism, who thanked such distinction as “one more caress to the heart and to the profession”.
In second place was recognized Sergio "Oveja" Hernández, former coach of the National Basketball Team with just over 12 years as technical director (2005-2010 and 2015-2021) and one as assistant (2012), marking an era, leaving a deep mark on two different generations of players, imposing himself on a Golden Generation. For Hernández: “It is an award that allows me to be valid, especially considering that it comes from sports journalism in the country.”
Finally, Claudio Tapia was the last to receive the FAPED Award, where he described the real content of Argentine soccer through the National Team, and specified that the house (AFA) is at the entire disposal of journalism, and of all the actors that make up the Argentine football: “There is a great integration in every sense,” specified the President of the Argentine Football Association.
