Team Iran the new reigning kings of Men’s Volleyball in Konya 2021


KONYA, August 15, 2022 - Team Iran knocked Cameroon off the first position on podium of Men’s Volleyball in the 5th Islamic Solidarity Games held in Konya tonight, the team had a good strategy to read Cameroon winning 3 sets out of four: 18-25, 24-25, 14-25 for Iran and one set 25-16 was for Cameroon.
PLAYER POINT OF VIEW After their victory against Cameroon, Porya Yali, player number 20 in Iran’s national volleyball team said: “We did not know about Cameroon, but we were able to get to a good analysis of this team well in one day.”
Porya Yali, who became the match MVP of the Islamic Solidarity Games, said: "It was a very good game, even though our team had no knowledge of Cameroon's team."
He continued: "A good analysis of this team was done the other day and the guys were able to play very well today based on the analysis of the technical team. Thank Goodness we were able to win the game.”
COACH POINT OF VIEW The head coach of Iran's national volleyball team Azim Jazideh said: "From the day we started the competition, we had no other goal but to win the championship and we have achieved it."
Azim added: I congratulate the volleyball federation, especially Mr. Behrouz Ataei, who trusted me in leading of this championship. I am thankful that our mission was concluded with success.”
“In the training camp we had, all the teams were called champions and this phrase made the work difficult for us. However, In the last 12 days, we focused well on recovery and mental preparation of the team.”
Team Iran's Head Coach answered a question regarding the team's loss in the second set of the final match: “We were under a lot of pressure in this set. Of course, we took the lead several times, but we fell behind by three points. We made two substitutions and it worked, and in the next sets, the team picked up more confidence, and as you saw, in the fourth set, we defeated Cameroon with a big points difference."
Jazideh described Cameroon: "they were very tough to beat, we already knew that they had a very strong attack."
