Milka Babović’s urn laid at the Zagreb Crematorium


ZAGREB, September 13, 2022 - The Croatian Olympic Committee, the City of Zagreb, the Croatian Skating Association, the Croatian Sports Journalists' Association and the Babović family organised an event at the Zagreb Crematorium, where the urn of Milka Babović, a doyen of Croatian sports journalism will finally rest in peace.
In the presence of family members, brother Mileta and nephew Damir with their families, director general of HRT Robert Šveb, general secretary of HOO Siniša Krajač, friends and admirers of her character and work, as well as representatives of the media, thanked the legendary Milka for everything she gave to Croatian sports, sports journalism and the entire social community. The last words were forgiven by the vice-president of Croatian Olympic Committee Morana Paliković Gruden and the president of Croatian SJA Jura Ozmec. Along with an abundance of red roses, a wreath from the Head of the City of Zagreb was laid under the plaque with Milka's name.

Milka Babović passed away on December 26, 2020 at the age of 93, but due to a combination of various circumstances, her remains were only laid to rest on September 8, 2022.
