BALI, January 18, 2023 - ANOC hosted a productive meeting for Technical Delegates (TDs) from surfing, 3x3 basketball and beach tennis in Bali as preparations for the ANOC World Beach Games continue to progress with 200 days to go until the event gets underway.

The meeting was held for the TDs unable to attend the last visit to Bali in September 2022. During the four day visit, the TDs received updates on the latest preparations for the Games and approved their sport’s venues and the accommodation for their athletes and IF officials. The TDs spoke very positively of the preparations and expectations for the event.

The respective National Federations were also present to support on the technical delivery of the Games and legacy planning to ensure the event has a positive impact on the local sports community long after it has concluded. ANOC’s delegation was represented by ANOC Technical Director Haider Farman and ANOC’s NOC and International Relations representative Gustavo Harada.

Surfing TD Erick Krammer said: "The International Surfing Association (ISA) is extremely  happy with our recent visit to Bali for the ANOC upcoming World Beach Games.  With the support of ANOC and the local organization of Bali we are very confident that the upcoming months will provide the necessary preparations to create a world class event for the sport of surfing."

The International Surfing Association (ISA) is really looking forward to the opportunity to showcase this exceptional venue to the athletes, the participating nations, and the general viewers and fans around the world."

3x3 basketball TD Pierre Duwat added: “It was great to visit the future site for 3x3 Basketball for this year’s ANOC World Beach Games. ANOC has really found the perfect location for this event in Bali, the Balinese hospitality combined with the paradisiacal scenery will, I am sure, make all athletes go back home with memories of a lifetime. We were able to finalise a lot of the technical details to ensure the smooth running of the competition and I look forward to see everything unfold during the remaining months leading up to the competition in August. We cannot wait to be back to Bali and enjoy what promises to be a fantastic event.”

Beach Tennis TD Ben Phillips concluded: ‘It was a very useful trip to visit the various venues to be used for the Games and meet with the local organising committee. The preparations already done will undoubtably contribute to a fantastic Games on the beautiful island of Bali.”

Bali 2023 will take place on 5-12 August and is expected to involve more than 1500 athletes from over 100 NOCs competing in 14 disciplines.
