

JAKARTA, February 24, 2023 - A senior ANOC delegation visited Indonesia in preparation for the 2nd ANOC World Beach Games Bali 2023.
Led by ANOC President Robin Mitchell, ANOC Secretary General Gunilla Lindberg, ANOC Events Commission Chair Timothy Fok and ANOC Technical Director Haider Farman, the delegation first visited Jakarta, where ANOC leadership was received by Indonesia state ministers and NOC Indonesia´s President Raja Oktohari.
“Indonesia is committed and putting lots of effort into organizing high-level events such as the G20 summit in 2022 and other international sports events. I strongly believe that we will have very good Games on an island full of culture”, expressed President Mitchell.
During two days in Jakarta, Dr Mitchell, Mrs Lindberg, Mr Fok and Mr Farman were presented with updated reviews on the Games organization by the Local Organizing Committee (LOC), with detailed information about all operational areas.
“The meetings have been very productive, and we are confident that working together as one team, Indonesia will be an excellent host for the 2nd ANOC World Beach Games,” said Mrs Lindberg.
After the meetings in Jakarta, ANOC leadership moved to Bali, where they were joined by ANOC staff members to continue interacting with the LOC in more technical meetings about sports competition, marketing and broadcasting, and logistics, considering also that Bali will host the ANOC General Assembly (GA) just after the ANOC World Beach Games. The Games dates are 5-12 August and will be followed by the GA from 13-15 August.
The ANOC delegation visited all the hotel facilities, the congress centre and beach venues which will hostthe events, and engaged with local projects related to sustainability.
