Fred Steinacher named honorary member at Sports Media Austria Congress

TYROL, April 26, 2023 - On Monday, April 24, the general assembly of Sports Media Austria named long-standing Tyrolean member Fred Steinacher an honorary member of the association by acclamation.
SIGNIFICANT CONTRIBUTIONS The Innsbruck native, who will soon be 76, was head of sports at the Tiroler Tageszeitung for many years and is still active for his employer today. He was also a board member of the SMA for many years. In the last 20 years, "Golden Eagle", as some colleagues call him, has made a significant contribution to the success of five of SMA Congresses - 2004 in Innsbruck, 2011 as well, 2016 in Fieberbrunn/Hochfilzen, 2018 in Kufstein/Innsbruck and 2023 in Neustift in the Stubaital.
GETTING OLD SMA President Michael Schuen presented Steinacher with the plaque of honour. "On the one hand, beautiful, but on the other hand it also shows that one is getting old," said the honoree in his typical way.
