TEHRAN, September 21, 2023 - Cristiano Ronaldo, a world famous football star, came to Tehran, the capital of Iran, with the Al-Nasr football team of Saudi Arabia to play against Iran’s Persepolis in the first week of the Asian Champions League. This match was held on Tuesday, September 19 at Tehran's Azadi Stadium Complex and ended in a score of 2-0 victory for Saudi Arabia's Al-Nassr.
DREAM COME TRUE However, Cristiano's presence in Iran also brought about a beautiful event. Fatemeh, a girl who is unable to walk or even talk, had the opportunity of meeting the Portuguese legend and presenting him with two portraits of him which she painted with her toes.
In an Instagram post, Fatemeh had expressed her wish to see Ronaldo in Tehran. Hence, against the backdrop of Tuesday's ACL match, the officials of Iran’s FC Persepolis talked with the officials of Al-Nassr about making the necessary arrangements for a meeting between Fatemeh and Ronaldo. Fatemeh received a warm welcome from Ronaldo at the Al-Nassr team hotel.
The arrival of the Saudi Arabian Al-Nassr football team in Tehran saw many fans gathering at the airport and also at the hotel where Ronaldo and his teammates were staying. They all wanted to see Ronaldo up close.

After leaving Iran, on Wednesday, September 20, he published a text of thanks to "the fans and to all the Iranian people who have made this visit so special for us".
