Ice hockey legend Jaromir Jagr returns for 36th professional season at 51 years old

LAUSANNE, December 24, 2023 - The oldest ice hockey player in the world is back on the ice.
Jaromir Jagr (51 years old) the best offensive Czech ice hockey player with 1733 NHL Games, 766 Goals, 1155 Assists in 24 years, plus 5 Olympic Games and 10 World Championships for the Czech Republic.
In 1994/1995 during the NHL Lockout he played in Europe for the HC Bolzano in the "Alpenliga".
Last week he turned back to the ice of his home club Rytiri Kladno which he owns. They are right now in second to last place in the Czech Tipsport Extra League. He wants to give his team new impulse. He is using his jersey No.68. He named this number in memoriam of the "Prague Spring" in the Czech RepubIic. Both of his grandfathers lost there her lives. On February 18, 2024, his former NHL Club Pittsburgh Penguins will retire his fabled No. 68 jersey in a ceremony at their PPG Paints Arena.
A native of Kladno, Czech Republic, Jagr has been majority owner of Rytiri Kladno of the Czech Extraliga since 2011-12 and has played for them since Feb. 3, 2018. He had 14 points (five goals, nine assists) in 26 games last season, his 35th straight participating in competitive hockey.
