Uganda Cranes announce Squad for 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers

KAMPALA, May 26, 2024 - On May 23, 2024, Uganda Cranes Head Coach Paul Put announced the squad for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers. The Cranes are gearing up for two critical home matches next month against Botswana and Algeria.
The squad includes four goalkeepers, nine defenders, six midfielders, and nine forwards. Notably, the team welcomes defender Elio Capradossi from Italian Serie B side Calcio Lecco FC.
Currently, Uganda stands fourth in Group G after two games, having won one match. Algeria leads the group with an unbeaten record, while Botswana, like Uganda, has three points.
Uganda is scheduled to face Botswana on June 7, followed by a match against Algeria on June 10.
