Atlético Madrid football academy will open in Kazakhstan

ASTANA, June 13, 2024 - President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with the head of the Atletico Madrid Football Club, Enrique Cerezo Torres.
During the meeting, a project was presented to open the Atlético Madrid Football Academy in Kazakhstan, which will be basis of the Olympic Center in Almaty region.
The President Tokayev, noting that the Spanish club is world famous, thanked Enrique Cerezo Torres for his willingness to share his experience and support football in Kazakhstan.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev pays attention to the development of football in Kazakhstan and stated that the country is ready to fully support this initiative aimed at the development of football. Currently, about 40 thousand children are involved in sports schools and sections, the infrastructure is being improved, and new stadiums are being built.
Enrique Cerezo Torres said that today Atlético Madrid academies operate in many countries around the world. In order for young talents to play in the best football leagues in the world, the academy places special emphasis on introducing best practices and improving the qualifications of coaches and mentors.
