AIPS Asia and AIPS Europe sign landmark MoU for the development of sports journalism

AIPS Vice President Yannis Daras on behalf of AIPS Europe President and AIPS Asia President Hee-Don Jung signed the MoU

KATHMANDU, September 16, 2024 - In a significant move to enhance sports journalism across two continents, AIPS Asia and AIPS Europe have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on key initiatives aimed at developing young sports journalists and fostering stronger relations between the two associations. The MoU was signed by Yannis Daras on behalf of AIPS Europe President and AIPS Asia President Hee-Don Jung.
The agreement will see both associations working together to improve the skills and capacity of sports journalists in Asia and Europe. Key initiatives include inviting young sports reporters from both regions to participate in various training programs, including the prestigious Young Sports Reporters (YSR) program. Furthermore, delegates from AIPS Asia and AIPS Europe will be invited to attend each other’s congresses.
Under the MoU, AIPS Asia and AIPS Europe will provide editorial and advertising space in their official publications and websites, along with creating specific online sections to promote the activities of both associations. The agreement will also allow both organizations to make presentations and participate in trade displays during each other’s congresses.
Yannis Daras expressed his delight at the partnership, stating that this collaboration will strengthen ties between AIPS Europe and AIPS Asia, offering a unified platform for the growth of sports journalism. President Hee-Don Jung also lauded the initiative, calling it a key milestone for the future of sports journalism on both continents.
