For the very first time, Italy will host the Special Olympics World Winter Games, taking place across Turin, Sestriere, Pragelato and Bardonecchia, from 8 to 15 March 2025.
The Special Olympics World Winter Games Turin 2025 will bring together over 1,500 athletes from 102 countries. These athletes will compete in eight winter sports over nine days, showcasing their skills in alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, dance sport, figure skating, floorball, snowboarding, snowshoeing, and short-track speed skating.
This event is set to be the largest sports and humanitarian gathering of 2025, highlighting the immense capabilities of individuals with intellectual disabilities - one of the world's largest disability populations.
