VIENNA, December 5, 2024 - One of Austria's most famous sports photographers, Franz Pammer, died on Tuesday, 3 December, on his 62nd birthday, in Graz. Pammer and Ingrid Gerencser founded the photo agency GEPA ("GE" for Gerencser, "PA" for Pammer) 37 years ago and made it the largest sports photo agency in Austria.

Pammer was present at all major sporting events - especially Formula 1, alpine skiing, rally and football - and was also a very good known international photographer. He was also on the board of Sports Media Austria for many years. With Franz Pammer, Austria's sports photographers lose one of the best in his genre.
