TBILISI, December 14, 2024 - The world belongs to Aryna Sabalenka.
The power. The will. The beauty. The passion. The destruction.
It’s all there. It’s coming and there is nothing left that can be said. Except that, this tank is crushing the bones with ease.
Sabalenka started the season as the world’s number 2. She was chasing Iga Swiatek from Poland and for some time (at the end of the 2023) Sabalenka raised to the top and became WTA’s new number 1.
But the real challenge was looming and Aryna cruised past the rest in 2024.
Sabalenka won two majors in 2024. The queen from Belarus became the first woman in over a decade to defend the Australian Open crown. Well, and what a defense this was! Aryna did not drop a set during those tense two weeks and just walked through a tough opposition.
She had to deal with some pain as well. Imagine, how challenging it was for Aryna to lose her former parthner Konstantin Koltsov ahead of Miami Open. Later on, Sabalenka had to miss the Wimbledon due an injury. And boy, did she come back!
The second half of the season belonged to this Hella of woman tennis.
Aryna grabbed the title at US Open and took home Masters from Cincinnati and Wuhan as well. In October, she took down Swiatek in the rankings and finished the season as new queen of WTA. Mission accomplished.
She is well ahead of Swiatek in the rankings. She is full of confidence. And she is resting to start the defense of her reign as the best and the most feared lady in the beautiful world of tennis.
The queen is here. With beauty and fury. The world belongs to her.
Just bow your head.
Or… will simply lose it.
