LAUSANNE, March 26, 2025 - The Games of the Small States of Europe (GSSE) are a unique multi-sport competition that has brought together athletes from European countries with fewer than one million inhabitants since 1985. Held every two years, the Games are a key moment of encounter, competition, and camaraderie between nine nations.
ANOC, through its Digital Accelerator Program, for the first time will live broadcast the Games of the Small States of Europe (GSSE) in Andorra on ANOC.tv and provide targeted digital communications services to maximize visibility for the participating National Olympic Committees.
Nine National Olympic Committees (NOCs) will compete in the event taking place from May 26 to June 1, 2025: Andorra, Cyprus, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malta, Montenegro, Monaco, and San Marino. More than 800 athletes will compete across 19 sports, making it a landmark event for small European nations.
The full competition, including the opening and closing ceremonies, will be broadcast live on ANOC.tv, in collaboration with Quality, which will oversee all TV production. This will ensure comprehensive coverage, bringing the excitement of the Games to audiences in each of the participating NOCs and around the world.
Beyond broadcasting, ANOC is partnering with the Organizing Committee to implement targeted communication support for the nine NOCs. Before and during the Games, ANOC will establish and manage a Digital Content Hub designed to streamline the distribution of impactful content to NOCs to use across their digital platforms. In addition to increasing the visibility of the Games, this initiative will allow each NOC to reach and expand its fan base, maximizing the event’s digital reach and engagement.
This marks a step forward in ANOC’s commitment to further supporting its members in developing their digital visibility during all events in which they participate. ANOC is already in conversations to provide similar support for other NOC regional multisport events.
