

WARSAW, March 28, 2025 - Before the 2026 World Cup Group G qualifying match between Poland and Lithuania at the National Stadium in Warsaw on 21 March, sports journalists from both countries, KDS (Klub Dziennikarzy Sportowych and LSŻF (Lietuvos Sporto Żurnalisty Federacija), showed off their skills in a friendly match on the training pitch of Legia Warsaw. The hosts proved to be better in the confrontation, defeating their rivals 3-2 (1-0).
The goals were scored by: Mateusz Skwierawski (2) and Krzysztof Marciniak for the winners, while Tautvydas Vencevicius from the penalty spot and Elvis Żaldaris scored for the losers.
The Lithuanian ambassador to Poland Valdemaras Sarapinas met with the players of both teams on the training pitch of Legia Warsaw.
In the World Cup qualifier on 21 March, Robert Lewandowski scored in the 81st minute to secure a 1-0 home victory over Lithuania.
