Korea’s Young takes Men’s Epee title at Qatar Grand Prix

DOHA, February 12, 2012 - South Korean Park Kee Young confidently won the Men’s Epee title after beating Silvio Fernandez of Venezuela 9-8 in the individual’s final of the Qatar Fencing Grand Prix 2012 and third World Cup held at Aspire Academy of Sports Excellence in Doha, Qatar, Saturday.
Qatar Fencing Federation (QFF) President, Mr. Saleh Amer Al-Humaidi accompanied by senior fencing officials from Africa and Asia crowned the winner and the runner-up respectively.
In today (Sunday's) fixtures a number of ladies will compete in the 64th round of Women individual and teams in Epee.
The prestigious event is organised by the Qatar Fencing Federation (QFF) from February 10-13, 2012.
The 4- day tournament is open for all fencers holding a FIE license for the 2012 season and/or those subject to a request of license made by their federation.
Number of fencers per country authorized participating in this event in accordance with FIE regulations. Formula of the FIE Grand Prix Events is applicable (Individual and Teams).
